The SVCF Bright Futures Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors, currently enrolled undergraduate students, and reentry students pursuing a first associate (AA) or bachelor’s (BA) degree, and graduate students who can demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must: be currently residing in California; have demonstrated academic promise with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA; and plan to enroll at a two- or four-year institution in the fall.
The Bright Futures Scholarship was established in 2010 by SVCF to provide additional scholarship opportunities to the many worthy applicants that seek funding each year. The selection committee looks for students showing academic promise and whose educational opportunities will be increased by financial assistance. This scholarship is administered by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Each year, they award close to 700 scholarships totaling more than $4.5 million.
