Scholarship Description

We've taken our California student video contest and expanded it across the U.S. High school students are invited to create a fun and informative short video (60 seconds max) highlighting the ways special districts ‘Make the Difference’ in local communities across the US for a chance to win a scholarship. Additional prize money will be given to the teachers of the winning students to promote technology and support distance learning.

Scholarship Details

  • Nationwide video contest for U.S. high school students
  • Videos must be 60 seconds or less, focusing on the impact of special districts
  • Prizes: $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second place, $500 for third place
  • Additional $500 awarded to the winning students' teachers
  • Contest previously limited to California, now expanded across the U.S.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to U.S. high school students in grades 9-12
  • Participants must create a video highlighting special districts’ contributions
  • Video entries should be no longer than 60 seconds

Application Process

  1. Create a short video (maximum 60 seconds) about the role of special districts
  2. Ensure video meets criteria: accuracy, creativity, production quality, and entertainment
  3. Submit your video between January 2nd and March 31st
  4. Wait for the top ten finalists to be selected by Districts Make the Difference
  5. Participate in the public voting period from May 1st - 15th

U.S. High school students grades 9-12 are strongly encouraged to participate in this contest for its educational engagement and scholarship opportunities. Enjoy creating a video and learning about special districts for a chance to win up to $2,000.
