The Maxwell Scholarship was established to assist high school seniors from Western Washington in obtaining a higher education. For freshmen starting college during the coming academic year, scholarships will be $5,000 per year.
Scholarship Details
- Annual award of $5,000 for up to four years of undergraduate study
- Scholarship is renewable with a simplified renewal process each year
- Must attend an accredited private college or university in the U.S. that is not primarily state-funded
- Funds are sent directly to the college or university
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduating high school senior
- Resident of Western Washington (attended the last two years of high school west of the Cascade Mountains)
- Planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a private, accredited four-year institution
- Minimum GPA not specified, but academic excellence is emphasized
- SAT/ACT scores optional but highly recommended
Application Process
- Create an account using an email address you check regularly
- Complete your student profile and begin the application
- Upload the following materials as PDFs:
- Extracurricular, personal, and volunteer activities (format provided)
- Work experience
- A 500-word personal essay
- Save your progress as needed and submit the completed application by May 9th at 11:59 PM PT
