Girl Up is a youth-centered leadership initiative focusing on equity for girls and women in spaces where they are unheard or underrepresented. We believe when girls and women are in positions of influence, they work to create a more just equitable space for everyone.
Eligibility
The Girl Up STEM for Social Good Scholarship is seeking changemakers that are making an impact and could identify with one of the following:
- Studying or pursing a STEM related field; OR
- Contributing to STEM related events in their communities or to the STEM field in some way; and
- Applicants additionally should:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in a college/university or technical school by the Fall
- Be between the age range of 13-24 years old
- Applicant’s university/college must be able to accept check or ACH transfer in US dollars (please check with your university/colleges financial aid office for more information)
If you are selected to receive a scholarship, the funds will go directly to your higher education institution. The Girl Up Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to girls and young women who are passionate about gender equality and pursuing higher education. Youth can apply twice per year and the funds are dispersed directly to the institutes of higher education. Scholarships are USD $2,500 per academic year. After receiving their scholarships, youth work directly with Girl Up to create a social impact project in their community.
