Joe and Dorothy Scarlett are strong believers in the power of education to transform lives. With the help of their children, they put this belief into action by establishing the Scarlett Family Foundation in 2006 to provide merit and need-based college scholarships to Middle Tennessee students pursuing business degrees. Since then, the Foundation has expanded its mission. In 2008 the Foundation added grant-making, partnering with non-profit organizations to help all Middle Tennessee students received a high-quality education. Today, these grants align with four key initiatives— college and career readiness, principal and teacher leadership, literacy and advocacy.
