The Department of Chemistry and Physics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) announces the Westbrook Scholarship Program. Awards will be presented to entering freshmen majoring in particular sciences. Once awarded these scholarships are automatically renewed provided the student meets specific academic requirements. The Westbrook scholarship can be added to other University scholarships and the Tennessee Lottery scholarship. This award is open to all applicants regardless of race, color, creed or sex.
To be eligible for the Westbrook Scholarship, applicants must: remain a full-time student; maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 both in the program and at UTC, as well as receive no lower than a “B” in all major courses; participate for 2 semesters minimum in departmental service activities (must begin no later than junior year); and take courses each semester that will lead toward a timely (4 year) completion of their major. The number of recipients each year will vary.
