Scholarship Description

The Big Game Conservation Association is a Nebraska non-profit corporation whose mission is to ensure the future of Nebraska's big game species (big horn sheep, elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, turkey, antelope, and mountain lion), their habitat and Nebraska's hunting heritage through targeted education, research and management partnerships at the grass-roots level and beyond. The Association has created a scholarship to provide financial assistance to high school graduates who will be pursuing a degree in the areas of Fisheries & Wildlife and demonstrate scholastic achievement, leadership ability, and dedication to wildlife conservation. The applicant must be a resident of Nebraska and attend a Nebraska institution of higher learning.

In order to be considered for the scholarship, applicants must: complete, sign and date the application; attach a certified copy of their transcript; attach three letters of recommendation (two must be from an instructor, advisor or counselor; the third one must be from someone involved with the outdoor community); an an essay (500-words maximum) demonstrating a dedication to wildlife conservation and the outdoors. Applications can be either mailed or delivered.
