Each year the Foundation awards six scholarships to high school seniors whose parent or legal guardian is employed by a California winegrape grower. The six scholarships are for either a University of California or California State University Four Year Program ($8,000 each) or for a California Community College Two Year Program ($2,000 each).
Scholarship Details
- Six scholarships awarded each year
- $8,000 scholarships for University of California or California State University four-year programs

- Students may study any academic major
- Recipients must enroll in at least 12 units per semester and maintain satisfactory academic progress
Eligibility Criteria
- Current graduating high school senior
- Planning to attend a California four-year university or two-year community college in the fall
- Parent or legal guardian employed by a California winegrape grower during the current or previous growing season
- Eligibility waiver may be requested based on financial need
- Students currently enrolled in college are not eligible
- Children of Foundation directors or employees are not eligible
Application Process
- Complete the online scholarship application
- Submit an official high school transcript
- Provide one letter of recommendation from an instructor, principal, or school counselor
- Write and submit a 500 word essay as outlined in the application instructions
- Ensure all materials are submitted by the stated deadline
Only the children with a parent or legal guardian employed by a California vineyard during the current or previous winegrape growing season are eligible to apply. However, children with a parent or legal guardian employed by a California winegrape grower may request a waiver from this eligibility requirement based upon financial need.
