  • High-achieving female 10th and 11th graders attending high school in Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota are encouraged to apply to be Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars. Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars attend summer pre-college programs at eleven partner colleges and universities - Barnard College, Brown University, Cornell University, Emory University, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, MIT, Smith College, Stanford University, Washington University in St Louis, University of Chicago, and Yale University. Summer programs range in length from two to eight weeks and are residential. Our scholarships range from $1,000 - $6,6000 based on financial need. I won this scholarship this year as a sophomore! This scholarship must be used for a pre-college program at one of the designated colleges and cannot be won more than once. It's a bummer there are no on-campus summer programs this year, but it's a really great opportunity. They network you with alumni and have lots of resources. Super supportive throughout the whole application process (I was missing documents after the cut off date and they still considered my app)!
