The NAPABA Law Foundation carries out its work primarily by awarding scholarships and fellowships that promote the interests of the Asian Pacific American community. Since its founding, the Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships and over $1 million in fellowships and internships.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarships awarded on a competitive basis
- Includes the Lim, Ruger & Kim Scholarship now known as the LimNexus Scholarship
- LimNexus Scholarship award amount is $2,500

Eligibility Criteria
- Currently enrolled in an accredited United States law school
- Demonstrated interest in pro bono, public interest, or public service legal work
- Commitment to serving the Asian Pacific American community
- Consideration given to academic achievement, financial need, leadership potential, maturity, and responsibility
- Applicants from diverse cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, and experiential backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply
Application Process
- Complete the NAPABA Law Foundation scholarship application
- Submit an essay emphasizing commitment to bettering the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community
- Provide official or unofficial law school transcripts
- Upload letters of recommendation and a current resume
- Submit all required materials by the stated application deadline
n 2004, the Foundation established the Lim, Ruger & Kim Scholarship. Today, the firm, with offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, has a fresh new name, “LimNexus,” and celebrates its 30th Anniversary. LimNexus continues its support of the Foundation by offering a $2,500 scholarship.
