The Education and Training Vouchers (ETV) for Youths Aging Out of Foster Care in Texas provides financial assistance to help current and former foster youth ages 16-23 to begin, continue or complete post-secondary education and training programs. Youth participating in the education and training voucher program on their 23rd birthday can remain eligible until age 23 as long as they are enrolled and making satisfactory progress toward completing their postsecondary education or training program. Eligible Students must enroll in a minimum of 6 semester hours.
Scholarship Details
- Provides up to $5,000 per year for eligible students.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be at least 16 years old and in DFPS foster care, or have aged out of DFPS foster care, been adopted after age 16, or entered the PCA program after age 16, and not yet 23 years old.
- Eligible youth under the custody of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department or tribal youth in foster care who are not yet age 23.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or be exempt from compulsory school attendance, and enrolled in at least 6 semester hours in higher education (3 for dual credit or summer semesters).
