Scholarship Description

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation's Donald J. DeYoung Scholarship is offered to a current or former ward of the court in Kent County pursuing an undergraduate college or vocational education. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, have at least a GPA of 2.5 and provide a letter of recommendation from a caseworker. Scholarship recipients are selected by the Grand Rapids Community Foundation (GRCF) and applicants follow the GRCF process. Awards generally range from $1,000 to $3,000 and can be renewed if the recipient continues to meet the minimum grade point requirement. Applications run from December until the due date.
