Scholarship Description

Applying for financial aid requires a little work on your part. But the fact is, you won't receive assistance unless you ask for it. And asking for it means completing a few forms. There are three very important things to remember about applying for aid: you only have to complete one financial aid application (either the FAFSA or the TASFA to start the process; the financial aid office at the college you plan to attend will be in charge of awarding you financial aid; and the earlier you submit your forms, the more likely you are to get a good financial aid package.

The purpose of the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (TEOG) is to provide grant aid to financially needy students enrolled in Texas public two-year colleges. To receive an initial award through the TEOG Program, a student must be registered with selective service, or be exempt; be classified by the institution as a Texas resident and be enrolled at least half-time. Applicants are considered when submitting the FAFSA or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA). Funding is limited, so submit as soon as possible after January 1st.
