The Calculated Genius STEMINIST Scholarship Program provides financial support to Chicago metropolitan area women pursuing college degrees in engineering. Calculated Genius is proud to support and encourage women to pursue degrees in engineering by recognizing their talents with financial awards. Applicant must be a female graduating high school student who is majoring in engineering in college, have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and intend on majoring in an engineering discipline in college, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident or have active Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status in the Chicago metropolitan area.
Complete applications will be reviewed and judged on the following criteria: essay content, academic achievements and records, and community involvement or volunteerism. Decisions made by the selection committee are final and are not subject to appeal. No application feedback will be given. Supporting documentation is required for this application, including a High School Transcript, one letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or community supporter, and a college admissions letter. Recipients are required to complete an application with a short essay and submit a copy of their official transcript with at least one letter of recommendation. The scholarship recipients may be asked to communicate with summer camp scholars in a mentor capacity and attend the Calculated Genius Showcase event.
