Contra Costa NOW is a San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the National Organization for Women, one of the oldest and most prominent feminist organizations in the US. Contra Costa NOW is offering two $1,000 scholarships to women of color enrolled in a non-profit accredited college or university, either in a two-year or four-year academic program. We are looking to support a woman who has demonstrated leadership as an activist in her community. Contra Costa NOW is committed to enabling marginalized women. We have earmarked these scholarships to support and uplift women of color and help support women’s education.
Scholarship Details
- Two scholarships of $1,000 each for women of color
- Support for women demonstrating community activism and leadership
- For students enrolled in non-profit accredited colleges or universities
Eligibility Criteria
- Permanent residency in Contra Costa County
- At least one semester completed at an accredited non-profit college or university
- Enrollment in or transfer to an accredited non-profit college or university for the coming fall semester
- GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Submission of an official transcript, digital photo, letter of recommendation, and an essay on community activism
