Scholarship Description

Education is vital to the growth and future of every community. Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and vocational students. Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. The Carrie B. Hines Endowment Scholarship was established to encourage participants of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saginaw County to volunteer to assist those in need and pursue higher education at Ferris State University. Eligible applicant must: have a minimum of two years participation with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saginaw County prior to high school graduation; have a minimum of 20 volunteer hours at a Veterans Health Administration Hospital or Clinic to be completed during the last two years of high school; be a racial minority; and have a 2.0 GPA.
