Scholarship Description

The Fellows Foundation provides educational funding to students from Northwest Florida who are seeking degrees in the areas of healthcare including medicine and nursing, and ministry.

Eligibility

  • Must be U.S. citizen.
  • Must be a resident of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, or Walton County, Florida.
  • Must be of good moral character and qualified scholastically and intellectually for the education desired.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA in academic coursework.
  • Must have been accepted by, or be successfully pursuing training at, an accredited college in the appropriate field of study.
  • Deserving students who meet the requirements are eligible without distinction to race, creed, or gender.

Enrollment Requirement

  • Full-time enrollment: 12 credits or more per term
  • Part-time enrollment: minimum of 3 credits to 11 credits per term

Number of Awards

The number of scholarships awarded will vary each academic year depending on the award amount authorized by the Fellows Foundation Trustees.

Award Amounts

  • Medicine/Physician Assistant: $15,000 per year
  • Nursing: $5,000 per year
  • Medical Technology/Health Sciences: $4,000 per year
  • Theology: To be determined

Application Procedure, Deadline and Documents

  1. Acceptance Letter: A copy of acceptance letter from college or program which you will be or are currently attending for the purposes of this scholarship.
  2. Transcript: Official copy of college transcript from college currently attending OR from the college most recently attended, or from the college from which you received your highest college degree.
  3. Recommendation Letters: Two (2) confidential letters on official business letterhead addressed to the Board of Trustees of the J. Hugh & Earle W. Fellows Foundation and signed by your academic counselor, faculty advisor, coach, administrator, employer, or minister to include information about your academics, achievements, potentialities, personality characteristics and current enrollment status.
  4. Cost of Attendance: Copy of the Cost of Attendance (COA) provided by the college and/or program of study.
  5. Statement of Need: A statement, not exceeding 500 words, outlining your reasons for choosing medical program as a vocation.Include your reason(s) for requesting financial assistance.

The Trustees of the J. Hugh & Earle W. Fellows Foundation made arrangements with the Office of the President of Pensacola State College to serve as the Educational Consultant for the Fund. The Executive Director will process scholarship applications, serve as liaison with the colleges and schools to which a recipient attends, and assist with the all other aspects of the Fund.
