The Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship is for Maine residents entering their first year of post-secondary education. Applicants must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a two-year or four-year, degree-granting college or university which is accredited by the Association of Schools and Colleges. Scholarships will be awarded based on merit, demonstrated financial need and community service. Winners must maintain a 2.5 GPA once enrolled.
This scholarship was established in honor of MES founder, Dick Pierce who passed away in 2011. It was Dick's life-long commitment to promote higher education. The number and size of the scholarships are determined annually by the MES Foundation Board of Directors. For over 25 years, MES Foundation (MES) provided student loan administration services, scholarship management, and college planning outreach to students and families across Maine.
