Applicants should be prepared to play three pieces of contrasting periods or composers from the standard classical piano/organ literature. A jury of professional keyboard musicians will select a winner on the basis of the live audition performance. Applicants must reside in or study with a teacher who resides in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. Applicants must have been accepted by an accredited degree-granting music institution at the time of application.

In addition to receiving this one-time-only scholarship, the winner is traditionally invited to perform at the music club’s Young Performers Concert held in the spring of his or her freshman year. Winners of this award have gone on to study at Curtis Institute of Music, Juilliard, Eastman, Westminster Choir College, Oberlin, Indiana University, New England Conservatory, Esther Boyer and other fine schools of music.
