Girls on the Run is dedicated to inspiring and empowering girls to develop healthfully, both mentally and physically. Young women are mentored as they build confidence and decision-making skills. Evidence-based programs are designed and implemented to instill valuable life skills and to foster the crucial connection between physical and emotional health. As part of our commitment to supporting our alumni, we are thrilled to offer the Empowering Futures Scholarship.
Scholarship Criteria:
Alumni of Girls on the Run Greater Houston and/or Heart and Sole Greater Houston: Candidates applying for the scholarship must have participated in Girls on the Run Greater Houston and/or Heart and Sole Greater Houston programs.
Graduate from Cy-Fair ISD:
Applicants should be graduates of Cy-Fair Independent School District.
Incoming College Freshmen:
Candidates must be entering college as freshmen.
Application Requirements:
Essay Submission:
- Submit an essay (750-1,000 words) describing how Girls on the Run and/or Heart and Sole helped you throughout high school.
- Include your name, email, and phone number on a cover page.
Submission Deadline:
The deadline for essay submissions is April 24th.
Winner Announcement:
The scholarship recipient will be announced on or before May 29th via email.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates must submit their essays by the April deadline. These essays should describe their Girls on the Run experience and the impact it has had on their high school years as well as how they feel it will impact their college experience.
