The City of Tukwila Scholarship Program was established in 2014. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals enrolled for undergraduate study in community colleges, colleges, trade schools and universities.
Scholarship Details
- Open to residents of the City of Tukwila
- Supports undergraduate study at community colleges, trade schools, and universities
- Selection is based on academic performance, community service, financial need, references, and a personal essay
- Application deadline: March 31st (no exceptions)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a resident of the City of Tukwila (proof of residency required, e.g., most recent utility bill)
- Must be equivalent to a high school senior
- Must demonstrate substantial financial need as indicated on the FAFSA Student Aid Report
- Must have applied to an undergraduate program at a community college, trade school, or university
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities through involvement in extracurricular activities
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Must have completed a minimum of 15 hours of community service
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form
- Provide proof of residency (e.g., most recent utility bill)
- Submit a copy of your FAFSA Student Aid Report showing financial need
- Include a copy of your academic transcript demonstrating a GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Document at least 15 hours of community service
- Submit references and a personal essay
The City of Tukwila Scholarship Program principally targets two and four year academic programs; however, certificate/licensing programs are also eligible.
