Scholarship Description

Since 1999, the Forest County Potawatomi Foundation has been supporting our communities by assisting and enabling their efforts towards self-improvement. However, we know there is more we can do and that our communities have a real need to create a more educated and skilled workforce, and to make education and training more affordable. To help address this overwhelming need found in communities throughout Wisconsin, the Forest County Potawatomi Community and its Foundation created a scholarship program for Wisconsin residents. Different scholarship opportunities are available for any Wisconsin resident seeking to enroll in one of Wisconsin’s accredited Educational Institutes.

An eligible applicant for the Chief Simon Kahquados Scholarship is defined as a returning or continuing student that has not been enrolled for one or more semesters, excluding the previous summer semester, from an accredited Wisconsin Educational Institute and is seeking to enroll as a full-time or part-time student starting in the upcoming Fall semester.

The Chief Simon Scholarship Recipient will receive a one-time $5,000 scholarship awarded for the academic year. The scholarship award may be applied to tuition & fees. All scholarship application documents are reviewed and scored by the Foundation’s Advisory Committee. Applicants are requested to volunteer academic documents to the Forest County Potawatomi Foundation for the application process and during the scholarship term.
