To be eligible for the Gloria J. Ivy Scholarship, applicant must: Be a female; Be a high school senior graduating in the spring the scholarship is awarded or current college student; Be accepted to, attending, or planning to attend a 4-year Historically Black College or University (HBCU); Be active in school, church, and/or community; and Have a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
This scholarship was created in honor of the late Gloria J. Ivy (Great-Aunt of KrysSpeaks) who served in the president's office at two reputable historically black colleges. Ms. Ivy was a phenomenal woman who left a legacy of fostering spiritual, emotional, and mental growth to college students. She was very active in assisting young people in their pursuit of post-secondary education including enrollment, funding, and employment post-graduation.
