The Charco Ranch is a working cattle ranch located in Kenedy, Texas. It also produces agricultural products, such as high protein grasses for wildlife and hay production, as well as organic eggs, fruits and vegetables. Mustang grape, Prickly Pear and Peach wine started production in 2014 and they are highly sought after, fetching over $200/bottle. The Ranch is at the highest level in three counties and provides scenic vistas, rolling hills and several lakes. The Charco Ranch has an abundant deer, quail, turkey, and dove population.
Two Scholarships were started by the Charco Ranch Foundation. Our local Scholarship, The Outstanding Community Leadership Award, is given to a local youth who goes above and beyond for our local community. Previous recipients have been outstanding stewards of their communities, academic scholars and program creators. These awards range from $100 - $250 and are need based. Our National Scholarship, The Outstanding Achiever Award, is a highly selective award. It is awarded to a national High School scholar who is in the top 1% of their class, obtains a minimum of 1500 on the SAT, has taken the most rigorous classes available, has achieved notable success in an extra curricular activity, is a community activist and wants to give back once they have completed college. Awards range from $100 - $250/year for college, are renewable and are need based.
