The Columbians is a New Jersey-based Italian-American Philanthropic Organization. Since our inception in 1982, we have provided over $2,000,000 in scholarship and financial hardship assistance to citizens of Northern New Jersey.
Our club provides approximately 30 college scholarships yearly, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. In addition, The Columbians provide ongoing financial support for college students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic performance and financial need.

Eligibility Criteria
- SAT/ACT score
- Must be a high school senior
- Residing in Bergen or Passaic County, New Jersey
- Demonstrate financial need and academic achievement
- Active involvement in community and extracurricular activities
- Interest in Italian heritage, art, music, or culture
Application Process
- Verify eligibility based on residency, academic performance, and interest in Italian culture
- Prepare and submit an essay along with evidence of community involvement and special circumstances
- Include SAT/ACT scores as part of the application
Although consideration for our scholarship award is available to all senior students residing in Bergen or Passaic County, we are particularly interested in students who not only demonstrate excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, service to their community, and financial need but who demonstrate an interest in Italian heritage, art, music, or culture.
