Texas Tech University offers transfer scholarships for transfer students, the Presidential Transfer Scholarship and the Proven Achievers Scholarship. For the Presidential Transfer Scholarship, applicants must be Texas residents, have at least 30 hours, demonstrate financial need and have a 3.0 GPA. To be renewed, applicants must demonstrate financial need, maintain a 3.0 GPA and earn at least 12 credits a semester. For the Proven Achievers Scholarship, applicants must have a 3.5 GPA and have taken 60 hours. For renewal, applicants must maintain a 3.25 GPA and earn at least 12 credits a semester.
Students awarded a transfer level scholarship of $2,500 for 3 years can be upgraded to a Presidential Transfer or Proven Achiever's level scholarship based on updated transcript information received prior to the first class day of the student's entry semester. Students are eligible for only one university level transfer scholarship. Non-residents awarded a Texas Tech competitive scholarship of $1,000 or greater (including Proven Achievers) will qualify to pay in-state tuition. This is offered twice a year, so deadlines will vary.
