The Texas Tuition Equalization Grant Program was established to provide grant aid to financially needy students to enable them to attend private, non-profit colleges or universities in Texas. Applicants must be Texas residents and must be able to show financial need. Must be enrolled in an eligible institution in Texas in a degree plan leading to a first associate's, baccalaureate, master's or doctoral degree. Applicants can apply by completing the FAFSA.
To continue receiving a TEG award, an eligible student must: meet all eligibility requirements; and meet yearly academic program requirements (check with your institution for details). Funding is limited. Each year institutions try to award funds to as many eligible students as possible. However, all eligible students may not receive funding. Only nonprofit private Texas colleges or universities may participate. The amounts will vary by school and year.
