Our Maverick Academic Scholarships are for solid-performing incoming freshmen with demonstrated academic success. The amount of the scholarship will vary depending on the strength of the student’s academic criteria. Students will be offered the highest level of scholarship that they are academically qualified to receive. To be considered a student will need to have a combination of two of the three of the following requirements at the time of admission: class rank top 25% or higher, 3.7 or higher cumulative, unweighted high school GPA. The GPA considered for the purpose of scholarship awards is based on a 4.0 scale and is calculated by the UTA Admissions Department. Applicants must have a score of 1280 SAT or 27 ACT.
This scholarship includes the non-resident waiver for students that are not residents of the State of Texas. This will reduce tuition and fees to the level paid by in-state residents for up to four years if the student remains in good academic standing for the duration of the scholarship. This is renewable for up to three years upon taking 12 credits per semester and maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
