The VWEA Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded annually by the Virginia Water Environment Association (VWEA) to students enrolled at Virginia universities or community college in an undergraduate program relevant to the water industry. The objectives of the scholarship are to support our local universities and colleges and to promote student participation in VWEA.
To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a civil or environmental engineering or physical/environmental science undergraduate program at a Virginia college, community college, or university, full-time, attending in the spring and fall 2022 semesters. Eligible students must have a 2.75 or greater grade point average. Judging of the applicants will be performed anonymously by the VWEA Scholarship Committee using a weighted ranking system. The selection criteria are as follows:
a. Academic Performance (25 points), b. Extracurricular activities (25 points), c. Work / research experience (25 points), and
d. 500-word Essay on a water environment topic of your choice (25 points).
