Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and vocational students. Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. The Sherrill L. Smith Music Scholarship is for music students who have financial need and demonstrate overall involvement in work, school, or community activities. Applicants must: be a resident of Saginaw County; have a 3.0 GPA; demonstrate involvement in music; and be attending a Michigan college or university (either part or full-time). Evaluation criteria include skills/interests, career goals, and overall involvement in work, school or community activities.
