The Anchell International Documentary Photography is meant to encourage personal involvement in social issues and promote socially conscious documentary photography. Applicants will create a photo documentary by choosing 12 to 20 images to clearly tell their story. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program at the time of submission.
This is open to all fully-matriculated undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of degree major, gender, ethnic background, or country of residence. No high school submissions.
Some general guidelines are as follows: Never repeat yourself. Each image should be unique. Each image should have a purpose for being in the story, even if it is only a transition to the next series of images. Try not to lose your direction. You have a story to tell, don’t meander. Place your photos in an exact order that leads the viewer to understand what you are trying to say. Make a statement with your photos.
