Scholarship Description

When 49 lives were taken, 49 legacies began. Our mission is to create academic opportunities – honoring the aspirations of all 49 Angels – to recipients who embody love, hope, unity, courage and unconditional acceptance. Legacy Scholarship Recipients are ambassadors of the 49 Angels and the onePULSE Foundation. Applications are open to any person - no matter age, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, disability or faith. onePULSE Foundation considers many factors when assessing scholarship applicants, including: Personal story; Financial need; A proven track record of leadership, community involvement and/or work experience; Working for the betterment of the community; and Strong academic or self-improvement interest.

Preference will be given to applicants who are family members of a Pulse Angel and those who are survivors of and first responders to the Pulse tragedy. Each scholarship will be for up to $10,000 for use at an accredited institution of higher learning, including career and technical schools. A scholarship committee comprised of community members scores three phases of the review process using a rubric scoring tool and make final recipient selections. Applicants meeting the minimum scores at each phase are forwarded to the next phase and their names are not known to the committee until the final interview stage. Scholarship Search
