To be eligible, applicants must: be an incoming sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student; have some prior experience in a newsroom (be it college or professional); be committed to writing professionally about the many ways race and identity intersect with America’s institutions; be available for the Chronicle’s upcoming summer reporting internship; and be able to verify that the scholarship award does not impact any financial aid or other need-based awards you may have received or can apply for in the calendar year.
