Since 1964, the Italian Catholic Federation has awarded over $2,000,000.00 in scholarships to more than 6,000 high school students, of the Catholic faith, attending college. The Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) is a family-oriented, non-profit fraternal organization dedicated to promoting activities that build faith and family spirit and bring men, women and children of all ages together.
Scholarship Details
- Sponsored by the Italian Catholic Federation, a national Roman Catholic fraternal organization
- Open to eligible students attending public and Catholic high schools in California, Nevada and Illinois
- Approximately 130 first-year scholarships of $500 are awarded each year
- Recipients may be eligible for renewable scholarships of $600 for the second year, $700 for the third year and $1,000 for the fourth year
- Applications are evaluated based on academic achievement, class rank, financial need, leadership, extracurricular activities and charitable service
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 based on the first 3½ years of high school
- Must be Roman Catholic and of Italian descent while living within a Roman Catholic Diocese in California, Illinois, or Nevada where Italian Catholic Federation branches are established
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application
- Obtain an official high school transcript covering grades 9 through the first quarter or semester of grade 12
- Write a personal letter describing your Italian heritage, explaining the importance of your Roman Catholic faith, and outlining your future educational and career goals
- Submit the completed application along with the required transcript and personal letter before the application deadline
- Wait for scholarship recipients to be notified during the month of May
Each Spring, the Italian Catholic Federation receives nearly 200 applications for its yearly scholarship awards. Applications are received from students in public as well as Catholic high schools in California, Nevada and Illinois. If you qualify, we encourage you to apply today.
