Smile Train’s College Scholarship Program is open to all US-based high school seniors born with a cleft. Interested students will fill out the application below and write short essays on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and how being cleft-affected has impacted their lives.
Scholarship Details
- Four $5,000 scholarships awarded annually
- Open to cleft-affected high school seniors in the United States
- Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, course-related expenses, and room and board
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be born with a cleft lip and/or palate
- Must be between the ages of 14 and 19
- Must be enrolled in a four-year full-time university, college, or vocational school in the U.S.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Immediate family members of Smile Train staff, board members, or their relatives are not eligible
Application Process
- Complete the online application form available on the Smile Train website
- Share evidence of academic achievements and extracurricular involvement
- Submit short essays on academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and the personal impact of living with a cleft
- Provide necessary supporting documents, including proof of enrollment
- Submit the application before the deadline of May 17th
This opportunity is not available to current or former Smile Train staff members, Board of Directors members, or their immediate family and relatives.
