I come from a long line of law enforcement branch leaders.I’ve seen my father sacrifice his life to help others and it made me realize it’s what I want as well. It has always been my dream to help people and go to college as the first in my immediate family to get my college degree. There needs to be more diversity in the law enforcement field and I think I can flourish in the environment that I grew up in. I am hoping to go to an out of state college to get a better education in criminal justice and psychology as my majors. I will be the first female police officer in my family. Hello, I just recently finished my sophomore year of college at Penn State, I am double majoring in Criminology and International Politics focusing in national security, with a minor in Arabic. Law enforcement has always been a goal of mine, I am currently beginning an internship with my security risk analysis teacher where I will be creating the coursework for a 400-level security risk analysis course. I hope that after college I can pursue a career within a national agency and help within the law enforcement, something that truly interests me is homeland security. I have met with homeland security investigations earlier this year and I hope to get their internship next summer.

My plans for the future are to attend college, and get a degree in criminal justice. With the increase of reality tv and social media presence within the realm of law enforcement there is an increased awareness of law enforcement presence in the community. A degree in criminal justice allows for the opportunity to become employed in the field that will most impact the community. As I have grown up the thought of entering the field of law enforcement has always interested me. I have always watch shows such as criminals minds, NCIS, and countless other shows that show detailed accounts, (while some maybe fictional), it helps depict what the everyday routine for these individuals may be. With that being said, I have always wanted to be like an individual that I see on tv that saves people, and can also help out in their community as well. It is my goal to become a police officer, for the simple fact that I can help people. While people not always want or need help, it would be amazing to know that I get the opportunity every day to help someone when they are in trouble. That is also what motivated me to pursue a degree in criminal justice, and what also has been the motivation to become a police officer. I've been accepted to Vincennes University and i am attending there in fall of 2021. I'm currently a senior in high school taking 2 college credit criminal classes which are also credits for vincennes. I'm currently working at Taco Bell trying to save to pay for my living along with my dogs needs and mine. I have a diabetic emotional support dog and i need to live without any roommates due to personal reasons. I'm about 4 hours away from Vincennes University and would have to live near campus so i will be just getting an apartment out there to get comfortable. My mother is a hard worker and has always provided for me and my sister. She always made sure we had what we needed and more. As a single mother, struggled and put things she wanted for herself aside for us. At one point in time we had to move back in to my grandma house because she started to get sick. We found out my grandma had esophageal cancer and was going to pass away soon. My mother then quit her job to take care of my grandma for many months until she died. After she passed away, we had to sell the house and move back to SE Washington, DC. In high school, College was not on my mind at the time even though I really wanted to go. I just didn’t know the reason why I wanted to go. I even started to play football for my High School just to try and at least get a offer from some school. In my senior year I thought to myself ‘this is the year I proved everybody wrong and get a offer’ but the worse came and I injured my knee. I thought football was the only way out because in class I was an average student barely getting above a 2.4 but once I got a 3.5 on my last report card and got accepted to the Virginia State University, I then found my purpose in life. My mother won’t always here to help. So I have to start doing things by myself and one of those things are to get scholarships to pay for college because I don’t want my mother paying all that money. I will go to college to pursue my dream of becoming an excellent police officer. I hope you will help me on this rough journey

I am applying for this scholarship to help me finance my education in Criminal Justice which will, hopefully, help me pursue my dream career in the Criminal Justice system. I have always wanted to pursue a career under this category and my mother the same. She has a bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Master's as well. I am applying for this scholarship so I can pursue my dream of becoming a well-qualified Lawyer in the future, and by coming form a relatively poor country compared to the others, Albania, my parents are having a hard time to pay for all my tuition in States. I am hoping that through this scholarship I will release some of their burden, and why not, to even show to myself that I am capable of receiving it and that I can put into work all the fantastic skills that I attained and honed through this first year in college as a freshman that I was.

I am a high school senior and will start collge in a few months. I will be majoring in criminal justice to become a detective. I won't stop their though I also plan on joining an innocence program for indiviuals who have been wronfully convicted. The justice system is so broken today I believe if I want to change it I have to go ahead and do it myself.

I would be the first in my family to be majoring in school for criminal justice. This career fascinates me so much because I get to help others when they're in trouble, keeping the community safe and the loved ones. I am perusing this scholarship because I want to have a stable career as a law enforcement officer, a military operator, or a criminalist. Given the opportunity to obtain grants and scholarships would help me to finish my degree in criminology I am currently in the process of taking through AIMs and Front Range Community Colleges through my high school dual enrollment program. In doing so I could transfer my credits and enter as an officer and it would allow me room through my law enforcement or criminalistics career to promote later on as I saw fit. It would aid in my ability to take part in community measures with a better understanding through my classes and the individuals I could meet within the field I want to go in to with a base line knowledge of the system as it is.
