We offer financial assistance for adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and scholarships, thereby encouraging individuals to pursue their educational goals.
Scholarship Details
- Annually, 1-2 individuals with muscular dystrophy will receive a scholarship covering tuition, fees, and course materials for an undergraduate or graduate degree at an in-state public university.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be living with muscular dystrophy.
- Applying for an undergraduate or graduate degree at an in-state public university. Consideration for private or out-of-state institutions will be on a case-by-case basis, with a preference for public, in-state options.
Application Process
- Complete an online application.
- Provide proof of household financials (e.g., tax return, SSI/SSDI documentation).
- Submit proof of muscular dystrophy diagnosis on a doctor's letterhead.
- Include an official letter of acceptance from a US college or university.
- Attach official transcripts from the most recently completed educational institution (e.g., high school, college, GED).
- Detail any other approved financial aid or funding for educational pursuits.
- If applicable, share information about assistance from Occupational Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) or Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).
- Complete narrative questions in typed, video, or audio format. Access to narrative questions is provided on the application platform.
