The Montford Point Marine Association believes "There is no better way to protect the future than by helping our youth with their higher educational goals." DC 6 is proud to honor this commitment by offering scholarships to individuals in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. Scholarship award amount $2,500.00 made payable to the school of enrollment. Scholarship deadline is April 30th.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: A Minority or Person of Color; A graduating high school senior with grade point average of 2.7 or above; A Resident of Washington D.C., Maryland or Virginia; Extra curricular activity at school, community or church; Submit one official (sealed) copy of your transcript; Proof of acceptance to an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU), Community College, Vocational, Technical or Trade School. *If awarded a copy of your registration or class schedule will be required to verify enrollment; Two Letters of Recommendation highlighting outstanding leadership qualities; and Provide a typed 250-500-word essay on the following topic: "How does the determination of the Montford Point Marines help impact your decision to further pursue your education?"
