The New York Islanders Children’s Foundation has dedicated its efforts to being an integral part of the community. The Islanders Children’s Foundation has created the Community Leadership Scholarship to recognize graduating high school seniors who have significantly impacted their community. The scholarship rewards students who demonstrate hard work, perseverance, leadership and community involvement.
Scholarship Details
- Awards five scholarships, each valued at $5,000, to deserving students.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Metro NY high school senior ready to enter a two or four-year college or university upon graduation.
- Should be goal-driven with a clear future vision.
- Exhibits leadership qualities and a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrates a commitment to benefiting family, school, and community.
- Lives as a model for peers, leading by example.
- Shows a passion for enhancing the lives of others through personal abilities and actions.
Application Process
- Ensure eligibility and prepare to showcase your community impact and leadership qualities.
- Gather at least two (but no more than four) letters of recommendation from a coach, teacher, guidance counselor, advisor, or employer.
- Request an up-to-date transcript from your high school guidance counselor.
- Submit your application and accompanying documents by the deadline, March 15th.
