Erick S  on 12/21/2020 5:06:01 PM

HEY! My name is Erick Speight, and I am 6'5. I am applying for this scholarship on my own, trying to gain more independence. You can say I have been blessed since I was born, though, not only with just my height but the way I was raised. I always saw my size as a burden. When I was young, many kids said they wanted my height and wished they were as tall as me; but I thought differently. I was a shy kid when I was young, so my being more elevated than most of the class and standing out was not the best feeling. I always wanted to cower away and hide. But my parents and the influences around me helped me realize that my height was a gift, not a burden. When I saw this scholarship opportunity, it made me feel even happier knowing there's a scholarship I can receive that reward me for the thing I used to hate most. I want to say thank you, and even If I don't win, I am grateful to have participated.

Nolan Sutton  on 12/17/2020 10:15:30 AM

I'm hoping to get this scholarship to help with my welding program , either way I'm glad all the tall people are getting a brake .

Calvin B.  on 9/22/2020 10:44:43 PM

I'm not applying because I'm old, but my kid is tall so we found this site, and I'm commenting just to give encouragement to all the young people on here. Being tall can be uncomfortable when you're young, but embrace it, and have fun with it. When strangers ask "Do you play basketball?", you can respond with "Do you play miniature golf?". When strangers ask "How tall are you, anyway?", you should always make them think. For example, my response is "five foot seventeen". The look on their face cracks me up every time! Or give them your height in centimeters. Be proud, stand tall, and have fun.

Alexa R.  on 8/29/2020 8:21:34 AM

I have been the tallest in my class since I can remember, ready for this.

Joe C  on 8/7/2020 11:48:19 AM

Like Majority of the students in this chat, I am an extremely tall person. Standing at 6'6" I look over many of my friends and supperiors. It's nice being tall until you forget to duck your head through a door way and give yourself a self made Concussion. Like anything, there are pros and cons with being tall.

Being one of the tallest girls in a small town, and constantly put down for my 5'10" height. This scholarship can prove those people who always saw it as a negative trait wrong. Learning to love the height to this day, and with the help of this scholarship I can prove to myself that the height is nothing but blessing.

Kylee S  on 5/24/2020 9:14:19 PM

Hi, my name is Kylee and i think i would be wonderful for this scholarship. i was looking for scholarships for my height cause for me to my friends its pretty dramatic, being 6'2-3 female setting were only a few people(females) are over 5'6, although i'm a few hours away from my local club i think it would be great to not only be in an amazing environment for me. I think it would be an amazing addition to this club and program.

Jonathon M  on 5/22/2020 9:11:47 PM

Yes I applied for this scholarship because I feel like people don't really understand how much of a pain being tall really is. You never fit in cars and when you do fit in a car you're hitting your head on the roof of the car. being 6'4 kinda sucks because the world just isn't made for your height. CALIFORNIA WYA?
