Hi! My name is Isabella. I am a senior in high school. I am going to college for a culinary degree. My mom has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis since 1991. I started helping her make meals for the family on days when she was in too much pain. This has inspired me to seek a degree in culinary arts. I want to help others with physical disabilities with meal preparations.

Hello, My name is Kaylee Padilla, I am currently a senior at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I plan on attending college next fall. At the early age of 3, I was diagnosed with JRA. My mom noticed horrible and painful swelling in my feet, knees, hands, and elbows so she was able to book an appointment, which we later found out I had JRA. Throughout the 15 years of having JRA I have tried many medications that haven't been able to help, I have tried steroid tablets, physical therapy, came into hospitals once a month to get my medication through and IV, but none where able to help with my swelling until my doctor was able to suck out the swelling with syringes and then adding a steroid but after a year of doing that every couple months it was making my cartilage weaker and very thin which is not good on the joints and bones. So i had to stop that and start back on medications as a treatment instead. I have been on Enbrel for 2 years now and so far it has been my miracle drug and has helped my tremendously. By receiving this scholarship, it will be a big help to my single-parent mother as well as I for paying for my education. Last summer I had four horrible deaths in my family, which one is including my dad. My mom and I are financially trying to makeup for having to pay for the expenses of four burials as well as throughout the 15 years. it has consisted of being at the hospital more than most healthy kids as well as having to pay for so many different types of medications that aren't cheap. This scholarship would be such a blessing and would be very appreciated. Thank you for your time, Kaylee Padilla

I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 16 years old. It all began with a simple wrist pain but I would often ignore it and assumed i got hurt while doing an activity. Days started to become months and the pain started to increase, there were no signs of inflammation but an intense pain surging in the inside. No one believed me until one day I woke up so sick with a yellowish face due to the extreme pain I could feel throughout my whole body to the point I couldn’t move out of bed. Crying in pain, my mother noticed and rushed me a local doctor where I was officially diagnosed with (RA). He used up to eight doses of anti-inflammatory medication that was injected In my right hand and wrist due to the immense inflammation and to ease my pain. After that day, I started to meet new doctors who prescribed different medication to ease The pain but no actual treatment. Until I was received by the Stanford’s children’s hospital which I noticed the true change and started to slowly revert from the painful inflammations to feeling like a normal teen. I feel very grateful to all the staff members in the Stanford’s children’s hospital for its upmost care and provided me with all the necessary tools and medication to treat my condition.

I was diagnosed of RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS (RA) in July 2009, It started in two fingers on my right hand and one finger in my left hand. The right side of my body was constantly aching and fatigue was so severe. I was put on Naprosyn and after some time i didn't feel any different, so i started on a natural treatment from RICH HERBS FOUNDATION, their RA FORMULA treatment effectively reversed my Rheumatoid Arthritis condition. The swellings, stiffness, fatigue and joint/muscle pains has subsided. I feel better overall. Visit ww w. richherbsfoundation. com. Six months after the treatment, I made an appointment with a rheumatologist in Houston, after examining me, she looked at me and told me I did not have Rheumatoid Arthritis.
