The Society of Lake Management professionals (SLMP) is seeking applications for its annual Student Scholarship Award. SLMP intends to award $6,000 (1st- $3,000, 2nd - $2,000 and 3rd - $1,000) in scholarships to the top three successful applicants at the January SLMP Summit that will take place in January at the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach, Florida. Scholarship funds are provided directly to the student and may be used by the recipient to cover costs associated with education, project/research expenses.
Eligible applicants should be enrolled as full-time undergraduate or graduate students in an accredited college or university within the United States. Exceptions will be made for technical schools as well as other employment or jobs that have stimulated ideas or products that make life easier for lake managers. Focus should be related to water quality, equipment innovation, limnology, aquatic plant management, aquaculture, fisheries management, or aquatic ecology of private waters.
