  • Scholarship Description
  • Students have a unique way of looking at the world, which makes them well-qualified to offer innovative solutions to design challenges. Think beyond the ordinary to come up with new and resourceful uses for extruded aluminum! To be eligible for one of the scholarships, you must currently be enrolled as a student in high school, college/university, technical school, or graduate school. To enter, applicants must design a product that incorporates at least one extruded aluminum component (custom designs are preferred, however product designs that incorporate standard extruded shapes will be considered). Applicants should provide as much support material as possible to illustrate the design, its utility, and practicality. Individual and team submissions will be accepted. Student scholarships in the form of cash awards will be presented to the top designs with a First-, Second-, and Third-Place prize awarded. In addition, students may elect to apply for the Sustainable Design Challenge, sponsored Bonnell Aluminum. The winning design will best address societal and/or environmental concerns in addition to addressing the four basic objectives of creativity, practicality, market impact/potential and product/process advantage. A total of $8,500 in scholarship awards will be presented. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
