Scholarship Description

The AWS Foundation National Scholarships are the most prestigious, high-dollar scholarships offered to students pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree in welding or a related discipline. With over 130 donor-funded scholarships available, the program awards more than $700,000 annually. Scholarships range from $2,500 to over $10,000 and require applicants to submit references, transcripts, and other supporting documents. The application deadline is March 1 for funds to be used in the fall term.

  • Some scholarships require demonstrated financial need, verified by submitting the FAFSA Submission Summary
  • Some scholarships require or prefer applicants to be AWS student members

Application Process

  1. Complete the online scholarship application by March 1
  2. Respond to personal statement questions, including general background, work experience, and career objectives
  3. Upload a cost of attendance summary outlining tuition, fees, books, and required supplies
  4. Submit an official transcript from the most recent school attended
  5. Request two letters of recommendation through the online system
