  • Scholarship Description
  • Baylor University, in cooperation with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, provides tuition assistance (20% full-tuition) to Baptist students who are preparing for careers in church-related vocational ministry.

    Eligibility:
    -Show evidence of a divine call to church-related vocational ministry
    -Demonstrate a lifestyle of commitment to the principles of the Christian life
    -Be an active member of a Baptist church
    -Provide certification from his/her church in one of the following forms: a letter of certification of a call to church-related vocational ministry, a certificate of license to the gospel ministry, certificate of ordination to the gospel ministry

    Qualifying students who accept this Ministry Scholarship assistance commit themselves to take Religion 2480 "Introduction to Ministry" at some point in their studies at Baylor.

    First year students must be certified by a Baptist church. Annual renewal of the Ministry Scholarship will require certification by a local school-year Baptist General Convention of Texas church.

    Note that Ministry Scholarship recipients are ineligible for the state-funded Tuition Equalization Grant, per State of Texas regulation.
