  • Scholarship Description
  • The fund was established by a group of Colonel White HS retired teachers to provide financial assistance to a student graduating from Colonel White (Thurgood Marshall High School effective January 1, 2008) who is majoring in education.

    Selection Criteria:
    -GPA OF 2.5 or higher
    -Senior graduating from Thurgood Marshall High School and a resident of Montgomery County
    -Plan to attend an accredited college or university on a full-time basis
    -Education major
    -Demonstrate financial need
    -An essay on why you want to become a teacher
    -A letter of recommendation from an instructor or counselor
    -A list of honors for scholastic achievements, awards, and co-curricular activities (athletics, debate, dramatics, music, etc.)

    Applications are available online for qualified students in participating high schools. You must obtain log-in information from your guidance counselor to access the application. Deadline dates are also determined by your high school guidance office.
