  • Scholarship Description
  • AAJA is proud to accept applications for the NBC Summer Partnership. NBCUniversal will place up to four selected students as paid interns for their programs based in New York City. NBC News Group will determine the show placement of the interns, but students will have the opportunity to inform NBC News Group of their preferences. The selected participants will be paid hourly for their work, and must be able to work full time in New York City during the summer. A housing stipend is available to candidates who live outside a 50 mile radius of the NBC Tri-State area offices. AAJA will also connect each partnership intern with a professional journalist mentor through the AAJA Broadcast Mentoring Program.

    Eligibility:
    -Applicants must have a serious interest in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism
    -Applicants must be currently enrolled sophomores or above and on track to receive a bachelor's degree or advanced degree from a college or university (limited to the United States). Recent graduates will not be considered
    -Production experience is not required, but preferred
    -Applicants must be at least 18 years old and either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
    -Applications must be received, not just postmarked, by the deadline
