The NDS Mike Lancaster Sophomore Merit Scholarship supports undergraduate students who plan to pursue careers related to the dairy industry. Recipients will also be recognized at the Dairy Shrine Awards Banquet.
Scholarship Details
- One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded
- Additional $1,500 scholarships may be awarded based on application quality, number of applications, and available funding
- The scholarship may only be received once by each student
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled in the second year of a four-year college
- Must have an explicit interest in the dairy industry and dairy cattle
- Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
- Must demonstrate leadership skills and academic ability
Application Process
- Review all scholarship requirements before beginning the application
- Obtain one letter of recommendation from a faculty member familiar with your activities and academic achievements
- Prepare an official transcript showing all college courses for review by the Dairy Shrine Executive Director
- Submit the completed application, letter of recommendation, and official transcript by the deadline at midnight CST
