  • Scholarship Description
  • Northern State University offers music scholarships to music and non-music majors on the basis of auditions. If you are unable to attend auditions, you are required to submit a recording. Video recordings are preferred over audio-only.

Applicants are required to complete three references by simply sending a link to anyone whom can provide the best and most accurate assessment of the applicant's music abilities. These recommendations should be from your high school superintendent or principal concerning your academic achievement, your music teacher concerning your musicianship, and one other person who is acquainted with your qualifications.

If you are transferring from another music program accredited by the National Association of School of Music, the director of your department or school must write a letter of release prior to consideration.
