The Early Career Fellowships in Hellenic Studies support postdoctoral researchers who are citizens or permanent residents of Greece and Cyprus. These fellowships promote exceptional research in topics related to ancient Greek civilization by providing access to essential local resources.
Scholarship Details
- Supports postdoctoral researchers focused on ancient Greek civilization
- Open to citizens or permanent residents of Greece and Cyprus
- Fellowship includes a $12,000 stipend
- Includes short-term research visits to CHS offices in Nafplio (up to 5 days) and Washington, DC (up to 10 days)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must hold a PhD or equivalent
- Doctoral defense must be completed before July 1
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of Greece or Cyprus
- Must reside in Greece or Cyprus during the fellowship period
Application Process
- Complete the official fellowship application
- Prepare a detailed research proposal of no more than 1,000 words (excluding bibliographies and references)
- Submit a curriculum vitae outlining academic qualifications
- Submit a writing sample of published or forthcoming work not exceeding 10,000 words (excluding bibliographies and references)
The fellowship award is only granted once. If you accept and complete one fellowship program, you are ineligible from being accepted into another program in the future.
